Jennifer Danielson says that being organized helps her to get back into the swing of things at school.

The first weeks of a new school year on a university campus can bring on feelings of tension, stress and anxiety, and what most won’t realize is that they are not alone.

Almost everyone suffers from stress at the beginning of the school year, according to Sander Deeth, a second-year Master of Science student in the Faculty of Education who is studying the effects of stress.

“Anxiety is fundamental to the experience at university,” Deeth said.

“It’s in relationships with peers, it comes from outside, it’s in the course work. It’s fundamental and it’s absolutely normal.”
