A Calgary man has pleaded guilty to strangling and raping his 17-year-old stepdaughter.  

Bradley Wade Rietze, 47, reportedly discharged his lawyers on the first day of his first-degree murder trial Monday and entered the surprising plea.

His stepdaughter, Brittney McInnes, was found dead Jan. 18, 2010, inside her southwest home. Reports from the crime scene indicated she had been strangled by a housecoat.

Rietze faces life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.
