Metro/File photo Lynden Dorval speaks to reporters after an Edmonton Public School Board meeting on Tuesday.

Several months after he was first suspended for giving a student a zero grade, Edmonton teacher Lynden Dorval has been officially terminated, according to local media.

Dorval, 61, reportedly received a letter Friday notifying him of the Edmonton Public School Board superintendent’s decision to fire him from Ross Shepard High School.

He was initially suspended from teaching in May when he gave a student a zero for incomplete work — something that goes against the board’s policy.

According to reports, Dorval’s contract will end as of Oct. 15.
