The City of Calgary is leaving residents of townhouses, condominiums and multi-family dwellings with “substandard recycling options.” At least, Bluplanet Recycling thinks so.
The recycling company was looking for a creative marketing avenue, and made a video that has gained popularity around the city.
The video essentially mocks the fact the City does not provide bluebin recycling services to multi-family units across Calgary.
“We thought, let’s try to see if we can create a bit of buzz by doing something like this,” said Devin Goss, co-owner of Bluplanet.
Bluplanet is a mixed materials recycling collection service available to the 150,000 Calgarians living in places where the City of Calgary does not offer curbside recycling.
According to Goss, the company already provides services to over 7,000 people in the city.
