It’s a makeover Calgary’s mayor hopes will set a trend.

Naheed Nenshi was joined by representatives from the Calgary Downtown Association, Centre City Implementation Team and corporate sponsors to unveil a new spring cleaning initiative known as the 20 Minute Makeover.

The event aims to have Calgarians clean up both the city core and their own neighbourhoods on June 8.

“Keeping our city clean is a community responsibility,” Nenshi said. “It means every one of us pledging not to litter and that includes not discarding cigarette butts.”
