Barroom banter of a different variety is on tap at Broken City tonight.

The local establishment will host the first-ever Sandbox Salon, a collection of three lectures conducted over pints by non-experts on crowd-pleasing topics.

Tonight’s event will feature casual conversation on topics like modern communication, Ultimate Fighting Championship and nervousness.

The series is hosted by non-celebrity host Evan Wilson.

Sandbox Salon is Calgary’s premiere amateur barroom lecture series.

Tickets to the series are $5 and are available at Broken City, located at 613-11th Ave. SW, and Sloth Records, located at 736B-17th Ave. SW, while quantities last.

The lectures run from 7-9 p.m. tonight.
