Retooling homes and communities to combat 21st-century challenges will be the focus of a discussion tonight. Dr. Avi Friedman, a syndicated columnist and author who is internationally recognized for his innovative housing ideas, will speak to the need for community design to incorporate economic, societal, environmental and cultural aspects in all decisions. He will use principles from communities across Alberta and Canada to illustrate his ideas.

The discussion gets underway at the central public library’s John Dutton Theatre, at 616 Macleod Trail SE.
