For Beige Plotts, coming home to a clean house is just one less thing she has to worry about.
When she was diagnosed with breast cancer last fall at the age of 26, she thought she would have plenty of time to clean while she was at home recovering from chemotherapy.
“Cleaning became such a huge chore,” said Plotts, describing the fatigue she experienced after treatment. “You can’t always get down on your hands and knees and clean the bathtub or the baseboards.”
So Plotts began working with Devin Flewell of NoSpot Cleaning Solutions.
Having seen his stepmother and other key women in his life endure cancer, Flewell said he wanted to offer free cleaning sessions.
“I just thought there has to be a way for my business to get involved,” he said.
After finishing her final chemotherapy session in January, Plotts said it was a relief to come home to find Flewell had left her house spotless.
“It’s really nice to come home and just feel that sense of relaxation when you walk into your house.”
Flewell said he is looking to help more women in Calgary currently undergoing cancer treatments.
“I see how much cleaning helps.”
