Pure Gelato is not purely about gelato. It also serves a variety of savoury crêpes for the lunchtime crowd.
Surrounded by the sunny orange and mint green walls, I settled onto one of the modern stools at the window.
Anything tastes better wrapped in a crêpe. The flavoursome thin pancake pocket that I ordered was stuffed with regular sliced deli ham and kissed by some cheese, thick-cut tomato and a generous sprinkle of chives. It could have been improved with diced ham off the bone and thinner slices of sun-cooked tomatoes, but it was delicious all the same.
You can’t leave without trying one of the on-site-churned signature gelatos. I’m addicted to passion fruit and this one was tangy and fruity, melting over a mini waffle cone.
Though the main attraction at Pure Gelato is frozen treats, the savoury crêpes are worth the visit. Next time, I’ll save room for a sweet crêpe, too.
