T.J. Grant takes a punch in the octagon.

T.J. Grant has fallen ill and will not fight in UFC Live 4 in Pittsburgh on Sunday.

According a tweet on the official UFC Twitter feed last night, @UFC, the Cole Harbour native is sick and his bout with Charlie Brenneman has been “scrapped.”

“Get well soon, T.J.,” the tweet added.

Grant’s withdrawal further delays his return to the ring. He hasn’t fought since a loss to Ricardo Almeida on Dec. 11 in Montreal, the longest break between UFC bouts in his career.

Grant, 3-3, told Metro earlier this week he was feeling “the best I’ve ever been” after the “best training camp I’ve ever had.”

Brenneman, 2-1, hails from Hollidaysburg, Pa., and would have been a hometown favourite at the Consol Energy Centre.
