The Montreal Juniors, who finished second overall in the QMJHL and eliminated the Halifax Mooseheads in the first round, fell 6-3 to the host Lewiston Maineiacs last night in Maine to lose the best-of-seven quarter-final 4-2.
Stefan Fournier scored two goals and an assist to lead the Maineiacs, who finished eighth overall, 18 points behind the Juniors.
The Maineiacs will join the Saint John Sea Dogs and Gatineau Olympiques in the QMJHL’s final four. The Sea Dogs completed a five-game series win over the Victoriaville Tigres, while the Olympiques took out the Drummondville Voltigeurs in six.
