I’ve been hearing rave reviews about the soup served out of a converted chip truck, spotted recently at Winterlude.
We ordered a Beef Chili with Organic Berkshire Chorizo, a Mushroom and Barley Soup and two Thai Beef Soups to take back to our Kanata campus.
Opening the cardboard bowl of Thai Beef soup caused a moan of scent pleasure. However, the moan didn’t match the taste expectations. The Mushroom and Barley soup was flavourful but lacked the heartiness I wanted from a soup-lunch meal deal.
The crusty, chewy bread on the side, though, is worth a trip on its own.
It turns out the winner of the bowls was the Beef Chili with Organic Berkshire Chorizo. Filled with vegetables and a heat that caused the diner to exclaim it was the best chili he’d tasted.
I want to return to this green kitchen and try its other offerings. Or maybe I should just sign up for its “soupscription” and get soup delivered to my home. Souplicious.
