Business types, solo diners, and kids are welcome at Giuseppe’s with its two-level seating, books and toys.

A deli, pizzeria, café and market in one, you order at one counter and pay at another.

While the dozens of cold and hot paninis were tempting, I was instantly drawn to the glowing pizza oven. With so many pie options, I went for the Four Seasons ($10.99) which was quartered with different toppings.

The plain mozzarella corner showed off sweet tomato sauce and a simple thin crust. Deliciously salty anchovies and capers, savoury home-cured mushrooms and pepperoni rounded out the hot pizza.

Abundant grilled artichokes, red pepper and zucchini filled my companion’s vegetarian panini ($7.99).

Resisting the dessert counter by the cashier was a futile exercise. The tiramisu ($4.99) was appropriately rich and creamy.
