Simon Cowell

He may be one of the most derisive people on TV, but Simon Cowell still got the send-off he deserved on American Idol on Wednesday night. The man who helped ring-in reality television — and is quitting the show after nine seasons — did it right, with guest stars Carrie Underwood, Christina Aguilera and Janet Jackson.

Alice in Wonderland
Tim Burton’s take on the classic Alice in Wonderland hits store shelves on Tuesday. The director’s new spin on the story of the Mad Hatter, White Queen and Red Queen will be available in DVD and Blu-Ray and digital copies.

Arcade Fire
Montreal indie sensation Arcade Fire announced this week that new album The Suburbs will be released on Aug. 3. A limited edition 12-inch will be available in stores on May 27, featuring singles Month of May and The Suburbs. Both those tracks are also currently streaming at www.arcadefire.com

Liza Minnelli
It looks like Liza Minnelli can still belt them out. The daughter of the late Judy Garland is featured in the new Sex And The City movie doing her rendition of Beyoné’s Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It). Of course, we all know what happened the last time Liza tied the knot.
