Seasons Bistro at Atlantica (formerly Holiday Inn) has a fabulous view of the Halifax Common. Three of us are here for lunch and inexplicably it’s almost deserted.
The tasty Arugula Salad ($9) boasts an attractive array of arugula, roasted pear, tomatoes, honey roasted walnuts and crumbled blue cheese, tossed with sharp cider vinaigrette.
My friend’s Curry Chicken Wrap ($12) is so substantial that she takes half home.
The whole-wheat tortilla shell is wrapped around chunks of grilled chicken, apple, celery and lettuce and is accompanied by a fresh, green salad.
I can’t resist trying the Mushroom Croustini ($9): roasted button mushrooms, red onion jam and goat cheese on grilled foccacia.
It’s a bit unusual and quite delicious. My Spinach Salad ($5.50 as a side) is first-rate with baby spinach, shaved Irish cheddar, cherry tomatoes, portabella mushroom slivers, a poppy seed dressing and balsamic glaze.
A shared slice of Chocolate Cheesecake ($7) hits the spot. Our server is friendly and prompt and certainly deserves to be busier.
