More than 50,000 wacky witches, mummies and wannabe rock stars are expected to take part in this year’s New York Village Halloween Parade. Departing from Sixth Avenue and Spring Street on Oct. 31 at 7 p.m., the parade will reach its final destination, 23rd Street, at 10 p.m. The parade first began in 1973, and every year since has sparked crazier, scarier and spookier memories. This year’s theme, Ghosts, will give everyone a good reason to rip up the ragged sheets they’ve had hiding at the back of their wardrobes. See halloween – www.nyc.com.
