A few people have gathered at the Muster Station for lunch.  I’ve heard good and bad about this place. My visit has both.

My friend orders a specialty burger or “stack” as they’re called here.  The Thai Gourmet Stack ($11) makes an impressive appearance with adornments including Asian slaw, slices of mango, tempura chilies, coconut mayo and – believe it or not – banana ketchup.  It’s tasty, although a thin bun would make it more manageable.  The fries are great and steaming hot.

My Pulled Pork Sandwich ($9), with apple spiced mayo, is too sweet and has no kick.  The bun gets soggy and unappealing. The accompanying Caesar Salad ($2.50) is fresh with real parmesan and bacon, but too much dressing.  It’s so huge I can only eat half.

Muster has a pleasant pub feel and a friendly staff.  Drop by for a burger – and bring your appetite.
