Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes Leon, was pressed into service for W.E., though her debut performance didn’t make the cut, the Material Mom tells MTV.

“There was a scene where she played Wally as a young girl, and I just kind of dragged her in at the last minute,” Madonna says of having her daughter play a young Wallis Simpson, the subject of her new film.

“It was quite unfair of me to do what I did and what I asked her to do, but she was really great.”

Apparently not great enough, though: “I ended up cutting her out of the film. Ruthless, I know,” Madonna says. “I said, ‘Sorry babe, you’re on the cutting room floor.’ She took it like a champ.”
