Not far off the busy Corydon strip full of sushi restaurants with nice summer patios and so-so food is the gem that is Café Carlo.
A perfect neighbourhood bistro featuring fresh takes on traditional pasta and salad, Café Carlo also offers daily specials. The menu features mostly Italian-inspired dishes with a bit of an Asian kick.
Wanting something that I can’t find on just any menu, I narrow in on the Fish Tacos ($15), a beautiful presentation of six mini tacos with lightly breaded, crispy tilapia, diced tomatoes and lettuce with a chipotle tartar sauce.
Included is a fresh salsa of roasted jalapeños, tomatillos, onions and lime. There was no heat to the salsa, but it was a nice complement to the fish.
Café Carlo is trendy enough to be in a cool neighbourhood and the food and service are solid enough to bring you and your friends back.
