All of those A-list celebs going through divorces? Things are getting awwwk-ward!
First up in cringeworthy separation stories: While Demi Moore was having dinner with a friend at a private club in West Hollywood recently, she couldn’t help noticing soon-to-be ex-husband Ashton Kutcher dining nearby. “She approached his table,” a source tells Us Weekly. “He gave her a hug, and they spoke for a few minutes.” The source describes the couple’s chat as “polite” but “very awkward.”
At least it wasn’t as bad as what went down recently with Jennifer Lopez and her soon-to-be-ex-husband Marc Anthony. Anthony apparently refused to shoot his Latin reality TV show “Q’Viva” with Lopez because of her new relationship with 24-year-old backup dancer Casper Smart. A source told Star magazine: “Marc and J.Lo had a tense conference call when she was in Morocco. Inevitably, their discussion boiled down to her new boyfriend (Smart) and Marc made the decision not to work with Jennifer last week as a result.”
Call me crazy, but maybe everything can be described as “tense” when you work with someone with whom you are going through a contentious divorce.
Give it away now
The announcement of the Rock and Roll of Fame’s class of 2012 is a wake-up call of sorts for Generation X. The Beastie Boys, Guns N’ Roses and Red Hot Chili Peppers all were fresh-faced in the ’80s, became superstars in the ’90s and are now being crowned with legendary status – and probably making a lot of people reading this right now feel very old. Those bands are among a group of performers that also include Laura Nyro, Donovan and The Small Faces. The induction ceremony will take place in Cleveland in April.
