CALGARY – Premier Alison Redford and Health Minister Fred Horne met with physicians in Calgary to discuss how health care can be improved.

Horne says the government has agreed to consult with doctors more before making changes to the system.

He says the government also wants to focus more on how to improve health care for the future rather than on problems from the past.

Earlier this week the Alberta Medical Association reached a new tentative contract with the government on physician pay and other issues.

Redford is expected to call a provincial election in the coming days. (CFFR)
