Sticky, sickly sweet, goopy messes.

It’s that time of year again for indulging in sweets, treats and completely unhinged snacks at the Ex!

Last year, there was a 45-minute wait for the Deep Fried Butter.

This year, the CNE takes calorie-laden food to a whole new level with the 1,500 calorie Epic Krispy Kreme Burger ($8 or $10 with egg and bacon).  

Essentially a bacon-cheeseburger with Krispy Kreme donuts for buns, it’s unctuous and unusual, but not entirely unenjoyable.

And if that’s not your thing, how about deep-fried brownies, mac and cheese, PBn’J sandwiches, s’mores and perhaps the strangest of all, cola?

You can eat healthy -roasted corn on the cob, salads, sandwiches – but it’s not the CNE without a bit of crazy fair food, even if it’s just a fresh dipped corn dog or spiral spud!
