Harry’s oozes a nightclub vibe like it’s Saturday night, which is odd at lunchtime.
But the music is rockin’ and the dark wood and chandeliered place is jammed with large groups of office workers, so at least it’s lively.
Bang Bang Shrimp ($13) comes in a takeout container with chopsticks and salad – nice touch.
Five Panko encrusted tiger shrimp are crisp and succulent with a nice jolt of heat.
There’s no dressing on the salad – the chef has “marinated” the few carrot and celery sticks instead – so the field greens are bone dry.
Steak Tips ($13) are a rare menu sighting and now I know why. While they’re soft and chewy, they have little flavour except for a slight liver finish. The “cognac-fired béarnaise” was missing from our plate, which might have imparted more flavour.
Harry’s clearly got the decor and social part down. Hopefully the kitchen will get his attention next.
