Local blogger John Smiley is all about promoting Calgary, and now he’s taking his love of the city to a new level.

Smiley, the man behind MrYYC.com, promotes local events around the city that many people may not otherwise hear about.

Along with promoting local events, Smiley has made it his goal to buy locally as well and support Calgary’s business owners as one of his 3 things for Calgary.

“It’s such a fun idea,” he said. “I’m a big believer in community, being directly involved in community, being directly involved in change and when they suggested this initiative, I went, absolutely I want to take part.”
